College of Notre Dame Argonauts brought on the heat Saturday afternoon in their game against the CSU Hayward Pioneers resulting in a 6-0 victory.
The Argonauts were infallible on the field despite the intense efforts made by the Pioneers to slow down their scoring tactics. Before half-time, the Argonauts had already scored three goals, two of those attempts obtained by junior midfielder Sean Westfield and the third goal obtained by junior midfielder Seng Saechao. The two men worked as a tag team, giving each other an assist on two of the three goals, paving the way for a less pressured second half.
The Pioneers fought back hard, but it wasn't enough to catch up to the Argonauts.
"It was rough, we just didn't show up today mentally or technically," said Assistant Hayward Coach Pablo Amador, "But, I have to give the Argonauts credit, they had the gift to win."
Despite being guarded by two players, senior forward Wes Bare displayed an impressive performance scoring the fourth team goal as his teammate junior midfielder Ryan Child passed him the ball and he eased it into the net.

"I always had a man on me," said Bare, "So, it opened up the field for a lot of our players. They could push the ball around more."
Within twenty minutes after Bare's goal, sophomore midfielder and defense specialist Jake Van Sloten scored the fifth goal without an assist, then junior forward Matt Bocchino scored the final goal assisted by freshman Kyle Bettis to win the game 6-0.
The game was a sly performance by the College of Notre Dame and a sure indication of how they will perform in the conference playoffs. The team hopes to win the 2000 California Pacific Conference title for the second year in a row and ease into a shot at a national title.
"We are just taking it one game at a time," said Argonaut Head Coach Gasper Silveira, "We're certainly going to try our hardest."
