I keep hearing about the shortages of donated blood in the Bay Area. My local news instructs those interested in donating blood to call 1-800-GIVE LIFE. I called today, and was told that they do not cover my area! The operator mumbled something about another organization that I could call to (maybe) donate. I asked for their phone number and she didn't have it. I hear about mobile blood banks, but I have yet to see one in the San Mateo area.
Maybe our blood supply wouldn't be short if it wasn't difficult to donate!
