$440,000 for street lamps. I am just behooved at this idea, and what's worse is I grew up in San Mateo and watched the city take the old ones down to put up modern ones.
The city stored the old ones in their lot at the northeast corner of Hwy. 92 and El Camino Real. Can't we salvage the originals instead of paying for fake originals?
Or do we really have to pay $400,000 or so on some lights? And how much of that is overcharge.
Because we all know if you want to install a stop sign yourself it costs $3.00 for a bag of cement, $65.00 for the sign and pole. But if the city puts that same sign in it is $375.00.
