Proposition 35 is perhaps one of the most important issues on our ballot this November. Almost 15 million Californians and half of the state’s children depend on Medi-Cal, yet, far too often, they have to wait months to see a doctor or specialist.
Health disparities in California remain stark: communities of color face shorter life expectancies, as well as higher cancer and maternal mortality rates, preventable hospitalizations, and barriers to accessing care. Proposition 35 is focused on creating an equitable health care system for all. Proposition 35 will provide dedicated funding to the state’s Medi-Cal program and ensures money goes directly to patient care and isn’t redirected for nonhealth-care purposes. It will fund training and education for new health care workers and secures resources for community health clinics and front-line public health workers. Proposition 35 is supported by a diverse coalition of physicians, hospitals, planned parenthood, social justice groups and nurses.
Voting yes on Proposition 35 will help close California’s health care equity gap and protect the most vulnerable Californians.

No thanks, Mr. Darby. This sounds like a continuation of a slush fund that will allow the state to avoid fiscal responsibility. Remember the $40 billion lost to EDD fraud? Or the ongoing waste of taxpayer money to fund the union giveaway known as the high speed rail train-to-nowhere? Imagine how much money that would bring to address the issues you raise. Vote NO on Proposition 35.
