What a true and emotional column by Mark Simon — when a house is a home! Daily Journal, March 20.
How many of us have lived the same story. We move into a house which becomes a home for family and friends, good neighbors, lots of sharing and wonderful memories. And then after many years we are going through the difficult phase of leaving this behind and start anew, change, downsize, new neighbors, different environment … we have to adjust and learn to live differently. I went through the same steps — it is never easy to let go but the good memories help us and will be there forever.
A funny but wise saying by my 105 years young aunt: getting old is not for cowards —
