Editor,
The Domini Hoskins Black History Museum and Learning Center, located at 890 Jefferson Ave. in Redwood City, was honored to participate in Palo Alto’s Good Trouble Lives On protest on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
The protest was designed to advocate for voting rights and democracy while simultaneously honoring the tremendous legacy of John Lewis. The museum’s founder and owner Carolyn Hoskins delivered powerful remarks about John Lewis and civil rights leaders whose example leads us to pursue the ongoing struggle for social justice. Mrs. Hoskins’ powerful words were met with applause and admiration of the crowd, which was estimated to include nearly 1,000 individuals. The day following the speech, a mother brought her two children to the museum because they were so inspired by what they had heard. The museum and learning center serves as a valuable educational resource in the community, and we encourage everyone to come visit and educate themselves about black history.
