The Transit District is very appreciative of San Mateo County voters’ overwhelming support for Measure W. The measure will provide new investment to support public transit and transportation infrastructure and programs. The Transit District board joined the county Board of Supervisors in an extraordinary partnership to engage the public and make sure that Measure W reflected the priorities of those who live and work in our communities.
The Measure W campaign was led by civic-minded business and political leaders working together with a coalition of environmental, labor, family and community supporters. We thank them for their tremendous efforts and support for our public mission.
The people of San Mateo County have placed their trust in us to fulfill the promises of Measure W, and we must be prepared to deliver when the new revenue is available beginning in July 2019. This will not be business as usual or just more of the same. We look forward to continued community engagement as we plan and deliver the future of transportation and enhanced mobility in San Mateo County.
JordanG - I am not sure what has happened to Ol' Conway to make him so bitter at everything under the sun. Every since the misogynist Trump got into office CC has been depressed.
SamTrans should read the writing on the wall. What is happening with Bart, and their 2016 bond measure, may well happen to SamTrans. On Thursday, the FPPC voted to fine Bart $7,500 for using public funds for political purposes. As part of the vote, the commission approved sending letters to the attorney general and district attorneys with jurisdiction over BART to investigate and prosecute the case and any others like it, since the commission only has jurisdiction of issues concerning the state Political Reform Act. https://www.smdailyjournal.com/news/bay_area/watchdog-calls-for-prosecution-of-bart-for-campaign-violations/article_cec2df4c-04cb-11e9-8bba-03f7d2a86d89.html
The GUM campaign, funded by SamTrans public funds matched by San Mateo County, qualifies as "...any others like it...". And, given the close election result, it would not be unreasonable for a court to overturn the election. Let justice prevail.

Jim - don't thank us, you need to thank the vote counters and the new ballot harvesting rules implemented by Democrats.
You may want to try a new produce section, Conway. Those grapes seem pretty darn sour.

Pathetic. Accusations with no proof other than an internet observation? Keep slaying those dragons.
Measure W was a joke. Basically bails out inefficient and money-losing SamTrans!
