Editor,

In a recent Daily Journal, I saw an ad for a labradoodle for sale. The cost was $2,000. I am sure it is a wonderful dog but, no matter how one looks at it — it is a mutt. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a mutt, but most shelters are filled with them; they cost about $100 and you save a life. Go to Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA, 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame. Hours are Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Thank you for this article. I am a firm believer in taking animals out of shelters and into good homes. I have my first ever fur baby that came from the Peninsula Humane Society. I am proud that I got her from an animal shelter. I feel alone because my family doesn't get this. One of my cousins said she has two cats that she named. I am glad that she got cats but I seriously doubt she rescued them. She knows absolutely nothing about rescues. She would never think about that. She is so arrogant. Its not just her its the rest of that family. They feed their ignorance with arrogance. Thank you for this article.
