How long does it take to change a gallon of crude oil to a gallon of gas at the pumps? It typically takes two weeks to a month for crude oil to be refined, transported and sold as gasoline at the pump, with an average of roughly four weeks, say reports from “Petro Online” and Reddit users.
In high-demand scenarios with low inventory, this process can be accelerated to about two weeks.
My friend said we don’t import any more crude because we produce enough here in the United States.
I’ve seen prices hovering around $6+ a few days after the “excursion” started.
Guess Chevron, Shell, 76, Arco and Valero didn’t get the memo.
Thanks for your letter, Mr. Deutsch, If your method for setting gas prices were that simplistic, you’d have a point. Since it isn’t, your point is noted but dismissed. Instead, you should be asking your “friend” why California gas prices are the highest in the nation and why California didn’t get the memo.
