Editor,

During President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress, Democrats showed their true colors by refusing to stand for Laken Riley’s family, Jocelyn Nungaray’s family, Corey Comperatore’s family, and DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old battling brain cancer. These are grieving families and a courageous kid — yet, Democrats sat stone-faced, unmoved by their stories of loss and resilience. This wasn’t about politics; it was about basic human decency, and they failed the test.

Thanks Grace! A few Democrats have spoken out against their own party's behavior at the joint address to Congress, but not Kevin Mullin. Not standing or even clapping for an inspirational boy who survived brain cancer because you hate the president is a new low.

Thanks for your letter, Ms. Xuereb, but if Mullin can’t find it in his heart to support the Laken Riley Act, why would you think he would support anything related to basic human decency? I can only hope Dems continue their self-destructive ways so perhaps California will turn red sooner rather than later. For those thinking of running against Mullin or any Dems, TV ads showing Dem indifference should be highly effective. Midterm elections are just around the corner.

Thank you for your comments Ms. Xuereb and I heartedly agree. The hypocrisy of Kevin Mullin to talk about unity when Democrats could not show common basic human decency. You are a human being first and foremost. Lifelong democrat here but it has been obvious for a couple of years now that the democrats don't care about average working class Americans. Keep it up dems hopefully this state will turn a corner soon!

It was a disgrace putting politics before decency.
