Editor,

Foster City has been without a post office since January 2018 when it closed its doors without any notice to the big surprise of all Foster City residents.

Susanne - I drove over to Jackie Speier's office located at 155 Bovet Rd
Suite 780 - San Mateo, CA 94402 Phone: (650) 342-0300 Fax: (650) 375-8270 and about 5 of her reps sitting in her office said a Post Office in Foster City will happen but they/she did not know the exact date.

They's been working on the space at Alma Street, one of the new building, by the newest Starbucks. I asked on Monday when would they be opening, answer was maybe next week? Sure hope so. BTY, don't blame the post office for delay, blame the developers who tried to get a higher rent. And these high rents have driven many a good business out of Foster City. I'm still surprised that someone tried it (higher rent) with a needed government service! Boo on them.

Drove by the new post office tonight and all the lights are on. Looks great. I hope that means PG&E finally flipped the switch.
