Editor,

Until 2012, no U.S. President ever exceeded his Executive power by illegally granting amnesty, work permits, and promises of no-deportation to illegal aliens until President Obama enacted the Differed Action for Childhood Arrivals plan by the mere stoke of his pen in June of 2012. In 2015, the United States District Court ruled that Obama’s Executive Order was unconstitutional and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal affirmed that DACA was illegal.Ā  President Trump was sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution, so he had to end DACA.Ā

Not at all! Here's what immigration expert and legal authority Marco Balducciot said: NDACA was an innovation in the use of deferred action, but it was not without precedent or legal merit. In fact, DACA had survived a challenge in court brought by immigration agents. DACA was a courageous, "big hearted" response to Congress' legislative and moral failure in fixing the injustices perpetrated against immigrants by our current legal framework. We must now motivate members of Congress to demonstrate their courage and big hearts by passing a bill that recognizes the dignity of and protects the undocumented immigrants among us.

Dignifying breaking the law? Dignity in demanding faux rights because the rent is too high, dignity in gangs, dignity in living above one's means?

Mike - you're exactly right on all points. God bless America and our democratic institutions including the rule of law.
