Editor,

Don Mangel, in his letter in the Feb. 12 edition of The Daily Journal, is outraged that I used the term "phony legalities” to describe the Obama administration’s giving Miranda rights to the Al-Qaeda underwear bomber. Let me ask Mangel a simple question: Where in the Constitution does it say foreign, non-American, spies, soldiers or terrorists must be granted the same legal rights as American citizens? But it is more than the "phony legalities” that disturb me. I am concerned that after 50 minutes of questioning, our president mirandized Abdulmutallab, allowing him to remain silent for the next 30 days, even though, from all accounts, he knew of more of his Jihadi brothers coming with the mission to incinerate other Americans, including Mangel.
