Yolanda “Yo” Marie Baldini of Redwood City peacefully passed away on October 22, 2023 at the age of 94. A native of San Francisco, born to Mary and Anthony Dalla-Costa, Yolanda grew up mostly in Redwood City along with her sister Eunice Dalla-Costa.
Married in 1950 to her high school sweetheart, Dan Baldini, they went on to raise four children in Redwood City: Larry, Laura, Dennis and Donna.
Beyond her role as a dedicated homemaker, Yolanda’s career spanned many years working for the Sequoia Union High School District. Subsequent retirement allowed Yolanda more time to travel, attend music and theatre events, engage in volunteer work, play bridge and enjoy anything and everything Italian.
Yolanda was also an avid sports fan for Bay Area teams and a regular cheerleader for any team or stage production that included one of her grandkids.
Yolanda was predeceased by her husband Dan and son Larry. She is survived by her children Laura (Mark), Dennis (Laura) and Donna; grandchildren Courtney, Brett (Emily), Kasey (Marlon), Hannah, Shelby (Emrick) and Tony; great grandchildren Caleb, Frankie, Delayne, Addison, Mila and Tatum; nieces and nephew Janis, Bob, Sue and Nancy.
Forever in our hearts and always with fondness, Yolanda will be remembered as a great cook, fun party host, spirited and loving person.
A funeral mass will be held November 29 at St. Pius Church in Redwood City, at 10:30 a.m.In remembrance of Yolanda’s volunteer role, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to the St Francis Center in Redwood City or your favorite charity.The family would like to acknowledge and appreciate the outstanding and caring staff members at Gordon Manor in Redwood City where Yolanda has resided for the past six years.
