It is with profound sadness, after 2 day hospital stay, that we announce the loss of Samantha Marshall, beloved sister of Pam Frisella and devoted aunt to Jason and Dan Frisella, their wives Julie and Julie, and great aunt to Lucas, Nico, Nolan and Luca Frisella. Sam was dedicated to all animals but especially and relentlessly to her cats, Saki, Kitty, Mitch, Millie and Steph. Sister Pam “inherited” Steph so Sam’s love and care of her sweet Steph (named after Steph Curry) will continue.
Sam was born to the late Bob and Della Marshall in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and was predeceased by brother Bobby but is survived by Bobby’s children and grandchildren. Sam is also survived by many cousins across the country.
Sam was a proud member of Peninsula Humane Society and volunteered with Homeless Cat Network where she fed the feral cats several days a week and will be missed by all her furry friends.
Sam was the most thoughtful, kind and sweet human being and there isn’t anyone who didn’t love her. Her love of tennis with the Racqueteers over many years is legendary as those friendships remain to this day. As did her loyalty and love for her hometown sports teams, The Giants, Niners and Warriors.
Sam taught Physical Education and coached at Turnbull and Borel middle schools in San Mateo where she enhanced and enriched the lives of her students and co-workers over 35 years.
The memory of Sam’s unconditional love of animals is her true legacy! She had a true connection to animals, in particular cats. Sam’s legacy will live on with the Humanitarian Award in her name at Borel and the countless hours volunteering at Peninsula Humane Society, Samaritan House, Foster City Village, PAL and LEMO, plus all the cats in SM County she loved.
Sam’s hundreds of friends and her family will have to bask in the love she had for all of us will suffice for not having her with us. Knowing she’s with all those who have gone before her and have welcomed her into God’s loving arms will have to keep our hearts warm for the rest of our days on this earth.
Sadly though, A big sisters love can never be replaced.
Donations to any of the above non-profits in her name would bring a smile to Samantha and she would be grateful.
Celebration of Sam’s amazing life will be at Elks Club, 20th Ave, San Mateo from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on March 30.
