Jimmie Coverston Moroni passed on at the age of 95 surrounded by her family’s love. Born Sept. 29, 1910 in Jamestown, Ark., she was the eldest of 11 children. She passed away Oct. 30, 2005. May she find peace in God and with her husband of 60 years, Gino B. Moroni, who died in 1990. She is survived by her children and their families; Gino Moroni Jr. (San Jose), David Moroni (Le Grand), Virginia Carlson (San Mateo), Elizabeth Fetherston (Lake Tahoe), her sister Louise Mohrlant (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) and brother Dana Coverston (Fort Bragg, Calif.). Her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren will cherish her memories. She spent her youth between Arkansas and Fort Bragg and raised her family in San Francisco and San Mateo. Her life was about home, family and working in the community, especially with local children’s organizations. She and Gino were members of the Italian Catholic Federation for many years. We remember Jimmie for her love and joy as mother and grandmother, but also for her stories of her life. She had an incredible love for children and greeted everyone with a smile. She has been an incredible inspiration for us all with her never-ending love, humbleness, passion for life and incredible strength. She will be dearly missed. Her family expresses sincere gratitude for their compassionate care provided by the staff at the Redwood City Kaiser.
