Jim Miguel, 74, of San Carlos, died peacefully, Feb. 13, 2013 at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by Dolores, his wife of 42 years; their two sons Jimmy (Lori), Tony; three grandchildren Ross (Heather), Maurice, Alesha; three great-grandchildren Sienna, Rebecca, Mason; brothers Bob, Mac, Jack (deceased); sister Kay; sister-in-laws; nephews; nieces, friends and devoted dog Sparky.
Miguel was born in San Francisco, April 7, 1938 and attended and graduated from Balboa High School where he played baseball and made the All-City team in 1956. Subsequently, he spent the next 10 years playing semi-professional baseball in San Francisco. He was a member of the San Francisco Old Timers Baseball Association and an avid fan of his favorite team, the San Francisco Giants. His passion for the sport evolved into the mentoring of his sons in the philosophy and techniques of the game.
