The city of San Carlos announced Friday that Trader Joe?s signed an agreement to purchase the site of the former Lyons Restaurant in San Carlos.
Trader Joe?s officials plan to clear the site of the current restaurant building and then construct a new store on the site, said Assistant City Manager Brian Moura.
?We do not have a timeline from Trader Joe?s on the project,? Moura said in a written statement. ?But they have been working with the Building and Planning departments for sometime on the proposal.?
Trader Joe?s has already filed a permit application to sell alcohol at the site which is now under review.<
