Is it routine for the SMDJ to run stories about local events without a byline, that don't appear in any of the categories on the frontpage?

I read Draper's interview in Cointelegraph. I was interested in his view of California and how horrible it is here then surprised to read about San Mateo closing 3rd Avenue so he could have a block party congratulating himself on his prediction. Just two statements out of many in the interview follow:
"That's why I want to flee California. I want a fresh start. And also to leave the US but that's different set of incentives."

"The taxes are higher here, the services are worse, educations worse, the roads are poor. You go to Texas - they have no personal income tax, they have great roads, they have a free government encouraging innovation. You need that."
Feel free to pack up and go Mr. Draper. No one is forcing you to stay in lousy over taxed undereducated lousy roads California. Gas is cheaper in Texas also. And the minimum wage is practically non-existent.
