A San Mateo man is suspected of robbing a Sonoma bank in September 2017, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.
A DNA sample from a wig and glasses that were discarded in the trash after the robbery of the Umpqua bank identified William Brust, 32 as the robber, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives submitted the DNA into a national database and Brust was picked up in Florida in December, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Brust is in the San Francisco jail on different charges there, the Sheriff’s Office said. He will be brought to Sonoma County after the cases in San Francisco are completed, the Sheriff’s Office said.
