Yessika Castro was named the new city clerk for Redwood City, following an open and competitive process.
“Following her outstanding service as Assistant and Interim City Clerk, I am very pleased to announce Yessika Castro will be Redwood City’s next City Clerk,” City Manager Melissa Stevenson Diaz said in a press release.
“Yessika has an exceptional professional background and is already effectively serving the City Council, the city organization, and the community. She brings a deep service orientation and a highly collaborative spirit that complements our organizational focus on excellence.”
Castro succeeds former City Clerk Pamela Aguilar who retired in June 2023. Castro has served as interim city clerk during the transition. She brings over 15 years of experience in local government, including her prior positions as interim city clerk and assistant city clerk for Redwood City and deputy city clerk for Fairfield.
