A nationwide sanitation strike is stopping trash collection for some residents in the Bay Area.

Workers at some Republic Services facilities in the Bay Area are refusing to cross a picket line in solidarity with workers striking for better pay, benefits and labor protections.

Yes, let's pay these indifferent, callous drivers a bit more for their marginal, cushy service. What does it take to drive one of these monstrous, grabbing trucks anyway? Let's start paying teachers and others who went though a learning curve more than 16 hours which it takes to drive such a truck.
