A San Carlos mom accused of child endangerment after Redwood City police officers arrested her on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and reportedly found her two young sons home unattended heads straight to trial after waiving a preliminary hearing on the evidence yesterday.
Sara Haderle, 36, returns to court Jan. 3 to enter a Superior Court plea and set a trial date.
Haderle has previously pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of child endangerment, driving while intoxicated, battery on an officer and hit-and-run. She is free from custody on her own recognizance and recently had a court order prohibited contact with the children amended to supervised visits.
If convicted of all charges, she faces up to eight years in prison.
According to prosecutors, Haderle rear-ended a motorist in Redwood City at approximately 2: 30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15.

When police arrived, Haderle reportedly fled on foot and was found to be intoxicated after being apprehended. Police reported Haderle nearly fell twice during a field sobriety test. She also allegedly struck the responding officer twice and tried to kick him.
The results of Haderle’s blood alcohol content test have not been released.
Haderle, according to the District Attorney’s Office, told the officer she needed to get back to her children but couldn’t say their location. The officer contacted San Carlos police to check her residence at which her 3-year-old son was reportedly found naked inside the home with the front door wide open. Her 2-year-old son was also reportedly playing outside in the rain without shoes.
Haderle has no previous criminal convictions in San Mateo County.
