Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA rescued a young peregrine falcon who fell from its nest on a City Hall ledge in San Jose.
PHS/SPCA via Bay City NewsTwo baby peregrine falcons that fell from their nests in San Jose and San Mateo County were taken to animal welfare specialists for medical examination and care, the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA said.
One of the chicks that belongs to the San Jose City Hall falcon family fell from a ledge on Friday and was rescued from a building alcove, according to the humane society.
The bird was unhurt and returned to its family by biologists from University of California, Santa Cruz, the humane society said.
Earlier this week, a baby bird who fell from its nest was found dehydrated in San Mateo County by a biologist, the humane society said.
UC Santa Cruz biologists and Caltrans workers returned it to its nest, 100 feet above the ground on property overseen by Caltrans.
