Half Moon Bay 63, Sequoia 41
HMB (1-0 PAL Bay, 6-6 overall) won all four quarters to cruise to victory in its PAL Bay Division opener at Sequoia (0-1, 5-7). Three Cougars scored in double figures, led by senior Gio Garduno-Martin’s 21 points, including five 3-pointers. HMB’s big man, 6-9 senior Owen Perez, added 14 points, and junior Levi Meighen had 12. Sequoia senior Holden Taylor hit three 3s and led the Ravens with 12 points.
Burlingame 46, Carlmont 45
Senior guard Jean-Luc Uharriet drilled four 3-pointers to lead the Panthers (1-0 PAL Bay, 10-1 overall) to the win in their PAL Bay Division opener at Carlmont (0-1, 4-8). Uharriet finished with a team-high 15 points, while senior post Lucca Maher added 10, and Payton Fong Heady hit two 3s. Carlmont junior Jordan Rice led all scorers with 17 points.
Mills 47, San Mateo 41
The Vikings (1-0 PAL Ocean, 3-8 overall) trailed by 1 heading into the fourth quarter, but overcame at San Mateo (0-1, 7-6) over the final eight minutes to win it. Junior guard Brayden Beliso led the way for Mills with 20 points, while juniors Jesse Jimenez and Connor Lai scored nine apiece. The Ehrleman brothers combined for 27 points for the Bearcats, with Byron Ehrleman scoring 14 and Bryan Ehrleman 13.
South City 33, Westmoor 32
The Warriors (1-0 PAL Ocean, 5-7 overall) won just one quarter, 14-10 in the third, but it was enough to win it on their home court against Westmoor (0-1, 5-8). Senior forward Thomas Miller led South City with 11 points. Westmoor senior Austin Prado led all scorers with 14.
Woodside 61, Oceana 26
The Wildcats (1-0 PAL Ocean, 4-7 overall) opened on a 22-2 run and never looked back in their PAL Ocean Division opener at Oceana (0-1, 4-7). Senior guard Luke Grech led the way with 17 points to help break a two-game losing streak for Woodside. Oceana was paced by junior guard Catcher Ashkinos with 11 points.
Hillsdale 52, El Camino 48
The Fighting Knights (1-0 PAL Ocean, 4-9 overall) overcame a 17-13 first-quarter deficit to win their PAL Ocean Division opener at El Camino (0-1, 5-7). Hillsdale senior Freeman Lane scored a game-high 19 points, senior Sebastian Avina added 14 and senior Callum North totaled 12. El Camino junior Eli Ledesma hit four 3-pointers to score a team-high 16 points, and senior Markson Jacques finished with 11.
Aragon 69, Capuchino 47
The Dons (1-0 PAL Ocean, 5-7 overall) led by 8 after three quarters and used a 24-10 run in the fourth to put away their PAL Ocean Division opener at home against Capuchino (0-1, 6-7). Aragon has now won six straight. Senior guard Armando Cajbon was a perfect 7 of 7 from the free-throw line and scored a game-high 27 points for the Dons, while senior Kalen Brodeth added 12 points. Cap junior Javier Carter scored a team-high 19 points, and senior Christian Rodriguez had 10.
In other action ...
Nueva (1-1 PSAL, 2-7 overall) rolled to its first win in Private School Athletic League play 76-35 at Kehillah-Palo Alto (0-3, 1-5).

The Cougars (1-0 PAL Bay, 9-3 overall) got back in the win column in their PAL Bay Division opener at home against Mills (0-1, 4-5). HMB has now won six of its last seven. Senior center Zoey Lemoge led all scorers with 20 for HMB, while sophomore Makena Glynn added 11 and senior Xotchil Nieves had 10. Senior Amaya Moore and freshman Makena Hoover paced the Lady Vikings with eight points apiece.
Menlo-Atherton 49, San Mateo 29
Paced by senior Luisa Tava’s 15 points, the Bears (1-0 PAL Bay, 9-2 overall) rolled in their PAL Bay Division opener at home against San Mateo (0-1, 10-3). M-A has now won two straight, and six of its last seven. The loss snaps a five-game winning streak for the Bearcats. Sophomore Mary Tava added 10 points for M-A. San Mateo junior Bella Fong scored a team-high 12 points.
Hillsdale 50, Carlmont 29
Hillsdale (1-0 PAL Bay, 9-2 overall) is off and running in PAL Bay Division play, after using a 16-6 run to open the game in a home win over Carlmont (0-1, 9-4). Senior Daniella Sierra led the Lady Knights with 12 points, while junior Cadence Lane added nine. Carlmont senior Tia Helmy shared the game-high with 12 points.
Terra Nova 61, Sequoia 29
The Tigers (1-0 PAL Ocean, 5-3 overall) owned all four quarters to roll at home in their PAL Ocean Division opener against Sequoia (0-1, 6-4). Senior guard Danielle Dibble led all scorers with 15 points for Terra Nova, while junior Reese Kelley added 14 and senior Haley Kubit had 13. Sequoia sophomore Olivia Macuga scored a team-high 12 points.
Burlingame 42, Jefferson 32
Senior forward Haleh Ansari led the way with 17 points at the Panthers (1-0 PAL Ocean, 6-5 overall) earned the home win in their PAL Ocean Division opener against Jefferson (0-1, 7-5). Senior Addie Uhrich added nine points for Burlingame. Nia Hicks led the Grizzlies with 10 points.
Woodside 49, El Camino 26
Sophomores Meadow Long and Lyla Rich led the way as the Wildcats (1-0 PAL Ocean, 5-3 overall) won their PAL Ocean Division opener. Long finished with 17 points, while Rich drilled four 3-pointers to add 14. El Camino sophomore Lhian Dela Cruz scored a team-high 13 points.
Menlo 54, Summit Shasta 17
Menlo (8-2) got back in the win column in non-league play at home against Summit Shasta (6-5). The Lady Knights were paced by sophomore Anika Shah’s 14 points, junior Ava added 13 and Sophia Longinidis totaled 10.
In other action ...
Oceana (0-7) fell 32-29 in non-league play at Immaculate Conception-SF (2-6).
