No. 2 West Valley 7, No. 7 Skyline 6, 10 innings
Trailing 6-2 after six innings, the Trojans tied the game with a four-run sixth, but the Vikings pushed across a run in the bottom of the 10th to end the season for Skyline in Saratoga Saturday.
West Valley (36-10 overall) completed the sweep of Skyline (33-12) in the best-of-3 series.
Ethan Reader went 3 for 4 with three RBIs for Skyline, while Trey Johnson drove in a pair with a two-run double. Steven Dalton, the last of five pitchers on the day for the Trojans, took the loss.
No. 3 Fresno 14, No. 6 CSM 11
Pitching was not at premium as the two teams battled back and forth before the Rams emerged with the win and eliminated the Bulldogs in Fresno.
Fresno (36-7 overall) led 5-3 after three innings and CSM (28-15) just could not stop the Rams as both team. Every time the Bulldogs scored, Fresno answered.
Aaron Babeav and Kiernan Baker each homered for CSM, with Babeav driving in three and Baker collecting two RBIs. Charlie Welch added three RBIs for the Bulldogs, as well.
College softball
No. 2 CSM 4, No. 10 Hartnell 2
It wasn’t easy, but the Bulldogs again advanced to the eight-team state championship tournament after completing the sweep of the Panthers.
CSM (39-3 overall) opened the super regional with a 3-0 win over Hartnell (25-16-1) Friday.
Saturday, each team scored a run in the first inning. CSM took a 3-1 lead with two runs in the top of the fifth and added an insurance in the top of the sixth. Hartnell tried to put a last at-bat rally together, scoring once in the bottom of the seventh, but could get no closer.
Katie Johnson doubled and drove in two runs for the Bulldogs, with Jessica Gutierrez and Ava Mendoza driving in a run apiece.
Giana Tassio got the win in the circle as she improved to 8-0 on the season. She worked the first four inning, giving up a run on two hits. Nia Mapa locked down the save, allowing one run on one hit.
CSM will be joined by Nor Cal top seed West Valley, Modesto and Yuba at the state tournament, which will hosted by West Valley beginning Thursday.
The Southern California representatives are: El Camino, Palomar, Cypress and Orange Coast.

Menlo-Atherton 7, Burlingame 2
The Bears’ win, coupled with Capuchino’s loss, clinched the Bay Division title for M-A.
M-A (10-2 PAL Bay, 18-7 overall) has a three-game lead with two left to play.
Jack Molise was dealing on the mound for the Bears, limiting Burlingame (4-9, 10-14) to two runs on just two hits — RBI singles from Mark O’Grady and Jean-Luc Uhhariet — in five innings of work.
MJ Eliazar drove in three runs for the Bears, while Gianni Olivero plated a pair.
Sequoia 14, Capuchino 2
The Mustangs were officially knocked out of the running for the PAL Bay Division title with the loss to the Ravens.
M-A has a three-game lead over Cap (8-5 PAL Bay, 16-10 overall) with two games remaining on the Bay Division schedule.
Sequoia (5-6, 14-1o) took control early, scoring four runs in the top of the first. The Ravens added two in the third and three more in the fourth to lead 9-2 after four innings.
The Ravens then put the game away with a four-run fifth.
Logan Mathias homered and drove in three runs to lead the Sequoia offense, while Luke Ostrander, Mario Fausto and Vince Orlinger-Giani all had an RBI apiece. Morgan Winfield got the win. He threw a complete game, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out seven.
Hillsdale 5, King’s Academy 4
Down 4-2 after five innings, Hillsdale rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the win and keep its automatic playoff hopes alive.
Robby Gilbert pitched six strong innings to get the win for Hillsdale (6-6 PAL Bay, 12-11 overall), with Hugo Guzman earning the save. Jake Belloni had a big game for Hillsdale, collecting four hits, including a two-run home run in the sixth, a double and four RBIs.

Carlmont 4, Sacred Heart Prep 2
The Scots completed the sweep of the Gators, scoring twice in the top of the first and adding single runs in the third and sixth innings.
Henry Massey, Jason Tofigh and Grant Goetz all drove in a run for Carlmont (6-6 PAL Bay, 12-12 overall) to make a winner of Noah Werbinski, who worked into the seventh inning, giving up two runs on four hits, with John Dunne getting the save.
Jackson Selcher and Daniel Gee each had an RBI for SHP (4-7, 9-16).
Serra 12, Riordan 0
The WCAL champion Padres wrapped up regular-season play with a shutout of the Crusaders to complete the season sweep.
Serra will be the No. 1 seed in the WCAL tournament this week.
After scoring two in the bottom of the first, Serra (11-2 WCAL, 22-5 overall) took control of the game with five runs in the second.
Two days after Davis Minton tossed a no-hitter in the Padres’ title-clinching win Tuesday, Serra got a three-hit effort from five different arms. Tyler Harrison had a huge game at the plate for Serra, hitting a double, a home run and drove in a game-high six runs. Minton had two doubles and drove in three runs Friday, while Ian Josephson homered and drove in a pair.
Softball
Hillsdale 2, Aragon 1
The Knights needed nine innings to get past the rival Dons in the annual game under the lights at Chanteloup Field in San Mateo.
The game was scoreless through eight innings before Hillsdale (7-6 PAL Bay, 15-9-1 overall) scored twice in the top of the ninth on RBIs from Sammie Marinec and Paige Venezia.
The Knights then had to sweat out a rally from Aragon (5-8, 9-16), which scored once in on an Elizabeth Magness RBI.
Lexi Kuka pitched the first inning, before giving way to Lola Jones who went the last eight innings for Hillsdale, scattering seven hits and striking out seven.
Mills 14, Menlo-Atherton 3
A five-run sixth capped the mercy-rule win for the Vikings, who stayed in a tie for first place in the PAL Ocean Division.
Mills (7-1 PAL Ocean, 19-3-1 overall) scored two runs in both the first and second and innings and extended its lead to 9-1 after a four-run fourth. Jazzy Maske went 3 for 5 with a home run and three RBIs for the Vikings, who also got three RBIs from Audrey Jang, Morgan Chu and Syd Wong. Sydney Chu drove in two runs for Mills.
Hailey Pedroz got the win, working 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits.
Kylie Cox and Olivia Rodgers each drove in a run for M-A (4-4, 12-7).
Notre Dame-Belmont 11, Sequoia 1
The Tigers kept pace with Mills atop the Ocean Division standings after the mercy-rule win over the Ravens.
NDB (7-1 PAL Ocean, 17-4-1 overall) scored single runs in the bottom of the first and second innings, before Sequoia (6-4, 10-9) cut its deficit in half with a run in the top of the fourth.
But five runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth gave the Tigers’ an 11-1 advantage, ending the game.
Alli Lui had another strong outing in the circle for NDB, allowing one run on one hit, an RBI double from Nisha Mehta, striking out six in four innings.
Lui also added a pair of RBIs at the plate, while Skylar Loo drove in four for the Tigers. Hailey Truong and Claire Kimball drove in a run each.
Half Moon Bay 20, Terra Nova 15
The Cougars and Tigers teed off on each other and when the dust settled, the teams had combined for 42 hits – 21 apiece — as HMB got its first division victory.
HMB (1-7 PAL Ocean, 8-14 overall) scored in every inning — including six in the top of the first, four in the second, two in third and seventh innings, with a four-spot in the sixth squeezed in for good measure.
Paisley Harris went 5 for 5 with two doubles and five RBIs, while Tessa Deeney had three doubles and three RBIs. Zoey Schwatz also drove in three runs for the Cougars, with Megan Sarabia driving in a pair.
Kylie Gangi drove in a game-high five runs to lead Terra Nova (1-8, 6-13) . Shannon Twomey had four RBIS, while Liah Trade added two RBIs for the Tigers, as well.
In other action...
Notre Dame-SJ (8-0 PAL Lake, 15-9 overall) shut out Jefferson (0-8, 0-11), 15-0.
South City (5-3 PAL Lake, 12-8 overall) cruised past Castilleja (1-7, 2-11), 20-2.
