Senior catcher Taylor O’Mahoney anchored Hillsdale’s sweep of a doubleheader Saturday at the Westmont/Los Gatos Softball Tournament, as the Lady Knights (7-4) topped Milpitas 9-6 before shutting out Homestead-Cupertino 3-0.

O’Mahoney went 4 for 7 with two doubles and four RBIs in the twin bill, and handled two complete games behind the dish. Junior Sophia Lebron earned the win in a five-inning game against Milpitas (6-4), allowing six runs on 11 hits. Her record improves to 2-0. At the plate, Lebron went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, as Hillsdale totaled 10 hits. Senior Mia DeMartini added two hits with a double and two RBIs, and junior Kara Chea had two hits with a double and one RBI.
Freshman pitcher Parker Jensen turned in the finest outing of her varsity career, firing a six-inning complete game in the nightcap against Homestead (10-3), allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four. Her record improves to 2-2. O’Mahoney got the Knights on the board in the third, coming to the plate with two on and two outs and shooting an RBI single to center. In the fifth, O’Mahoney added to the lead with another two-out RBI single, and junior Ania Aleshi followed with an RBI knock.
Hillsdale closes play in the Westmont/Los Gatos Tournament this coming Saturday. The Knights have now won five straight, and are one of two unbeaten teams remaining in Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division play, along with Aragon.
