Steven Howard’s “Another rant” in the Monday, July 16, edition of the Daily Journal, does a good job of showing us what an uphill battle we have ahead. Howard suggests that Trump supporters were concerned about 80 percent of Americans having flat incomes from 2001 through 2015, and that the Democrats could not propose fixes.
The Democrats had a majority in the House of Representatives from 2007 through 2010. For the other 11 years, the Republicans held the majority. You have only to look at the bills passed by the House between 2007 and 2010 see the ideas the Democrats were bringing to the table.
You could also read both the Democrat and Republican party platforms to see the ideas being proposed. Strong unions, minimum wage increases, more access to higher education, affordable health care and a healthy environment would all contribute to improved incomes for the 80 percent, and all are supported by Democrats but not Republicans.
The primary policy the Republicans have passed is to cut taxes on the 1 percent. They’ve also made health care more expensive, weakened unions and trashed the environment.

It is hard to pass anything when your American hating president Obama had a phone and a pen and the power of the veto. Wise up, best thing ever is that he is no longer president and only hear from him from distant countries. Wonder if Mueller will subpoena him for colluding with the FBI and his DOJ to derail President Trumps run for the presidency? Remember Russia meddling happened on his watch, people seem to forget that.
Chris: And you seem to conveniently "forget" that President Obama really tried to do something about the Russian interference, but was blocked by the Republican-infested Congress. Mitch McConnel wanted none of it! Do you wonder why? With a Republican opposition conspiring to do everything to block anything and everything President Obama tried to do, - even if it were one of their own pet projects, Obama's only way was EO and pen and phone. You better brace yourself for Mueller's findings!
With the passage of the Republican tax bill and the resulting soaring federal debt, Republicans have lost all credibility when it comes to fiscal responsibility.

Chuck- we already owe $300 billion with a B in unfunded liabilities to our public unions. How strong do you want them to be?
