The Thought for the Day in the San Mateo Daily Journal on Monday, May 29: “We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.” — John F. Kennedy, Feb. 26, 1962.
This makes me wonder why we imprisoned Bradley/Chelsey Manning for seven years, and continue to want to grab, charge, convict and imprison Julian Assange for releasing unpleasant facts on Wikileaks about our behavior in our ongoing wars.
