I would like to remind all the Millbrae residents that the present City Council has not been very active toward cleaning up the streets of Millbrae. Anne Oliva and Ruben Holober have been councilmembers for the past five years and nothing has been done toward “cleanup.” I have stated many times in this space that nothing has been done to clean up the streets and business fronts on Broadway. I have even explained what should be done to get the property and business owners to comply, but nothing has ever been attempted. How can Oliva and Holober make such a fictitious statement that the downtown is vibrant? I don’t believe either of them have really taken notice of the filth on the west sidewalks of Broadway. They are quick to spend our money on consultants to tell them what needs to be done, when I have already given them the remedy, and for free.
It is very typical that always around re-election time, those that have done very little during their term in office, state that they have “wheels in motion” to get things done. Nothing can be further from the truth. I ask everyone who reads this letter to not be fooled by what Oliva and Holober have stated as Millbrae being vibrant or that they are taking Millbrae in the right direction. That is all hogwash, so don’t believe it. The City Council pulled a fast one with Tai Wu parking. Don’t be fooled again.
