Concerns with Richa Awasthi

Problematic voting record:

• Richa voted to rescind the Code of Conduct, removing accountability measures meant to protect our community from abusive behavior by public officials.

• She opposed campaign finance reform, refusing to limit campaign donations, which allows significant financial influence from outside Foster City. 

• Her policies have limited transparency, undermining public trust by not adequately informing the community about council decisions.

• Richa attempted to replace the golf course with housing without consulting residents or conducting environmental reviews.

Ethical concerns:

• She used photos of children, teachers and staff from the San Mateo-Foster City School District in her campaign materials allegedly without permission from the school district or families.

Foster City deserves leaders who respect all residents and prioritize transparency and accountability. Our community deserves better.
