Editor,
I’m supporting Bolbol for City Council because:
• Smart enough to know the connection between high density building and traffic;
• Determined to work with parents and the school district to alleviate traffic jams at schools;
• Not part of voting slate, no predetermined votes;
• Votes for issues brought by citizens, not the council block;
• Supports healthy debate on policy, she is not a rubber stamp of council majority or staff;
• Respects citizen input and will not ignore, disrespect or brush off your comments;
• Will not support wasteful spending on consultants and studies to tell us what we already know;
• Believes there is no need for additional taxes now if we spend and live within our means;
• Will stop the shell game when spending Measure I dollars and balancing budgets
• Transparency is the key word for good government;
• Has a plan for limiting wild fire risk;
• Will not sit on her accomplishments after serving multiple terms;
• Will demonstrate leadership to move completion of stagnant projects;
• Will not use this office as a stepping stone for higher office; and
• Bolbol is an independent voice not dependent on Council or their appointment, she will earm her placeÂ
on the City Council.

It's interesting that the group that consistently promoted no growth in the canyons to protect the open space/wild lands around their own homes are now trying to make a campaign issue about the risk of wild land fires - a risk they helped create. If some of those areas had been built out the risk from fire would be much lower. The same group protested the Fire Department demand to create a fire defensible space between the Water Dog canyon and the CSUS project.
Obviously, the risk of fire is important and was addressed by the Fire Department at the last City Council meeting - part of their annual Fire/Safety update.
Yes Steve, let's pave Belmont over and permanently remove any chance of wild fires. That is what your favorite candidates have been pushing for some time. Who needs trees, backyards, and uncrowded streets anyway?
No sir, Deniz is the first one in a few years who can stop your attempt to replicate the ugliness of our neighbor city to the south. I am proud to be voting for Deniz Bolbol, I just wished there were more candidates like her.
