Sharelle Roseanne Mayer Photo

Sharelle Roseanne Mayer, of Menlo Park/ Atherton, died peacefully at Stanford Hospital on February 2, 2025, several days after her 82nd birthday following a brief illness. Sharelle was a devoted and lifelong Peninsula resident and loved all things involving Bay Area sports. Her insatiable curiosity , intelligence and sense of humor combined with her vast knowledge of current events , sports, movies, and plays made her a welcome guest and curator for social events at Silver Oaks where she resided for a number of years until her passing.

After graduating from Crystal Springs High School, Sharelle attended Dominican University where she received her bachelor’s degree in addition to taking classes at the University of New Mexico and briefly attending Stanford nursing school. After graduation she worked at Stanford Hospital as a nurses’ aid , then onto more social positions at Stanford’s Tressider Student Union , the Faculty Club and Alumni Center and then for her father Herbert Mayer’s engineering firm with a final stint at Infosci Inc. before embarking on more artistic pursuits in which she developed quite a talent for painting and photography as well as publishing her fantastic limited edition book, “Garlands and Laurels” in 1980 .
