Ann (don’t call her Edith) Dooley, 85, died peacefully March 7, 2018, in Belmont, California.
Ann was born April 7, 1932, in Arkansas to parents Edith and Jack. Soon thereafter, the family joined the Great Dust Bowl migration and became chicken ranchers in Porterville, California. After selling the farm, the family moved to San Jose where Ann graduated from San Jose High School. This was followed by a degree from Berkeley and a RN degree from UCSF. Ann proudly served the local nursing community for years working in hospitals and at the San Mateo Medical Clinic.
In San Francisco, Ann meet Michael and they were married in 1957. Soon, the couple moved to Millbrae where a colicky infant named Richard was born who would be the couple’s only child. The couple spent the next 40 years in Millbrae. Following Michael’s 2003 passing, Ann moved to San Carlos.
Ann’s passions for life ranged from salmon fishing on the “Wacky Jacky” to opera. She was an avid gardener, S.F. Giants fan, and genealogist who could trace her roots to both British Royalty and Revolutionary War heroes.
Her legacy lives on through son Richard, grandchildren Jack and Shannon, and many friends and family members.
