The San Mateo County Planning Commission shared its support for breaking a nearly 45,000-square-foot parcel in the unincorporated Emerald Lake Hills area into three, the first step in developing the land with new single-family homes.

Commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to recommend the Board of Supervisors approve a three-way split of a 1-acre parcel at 890 Upland Road and the removal of seven trees proposed by Paul Goswamy. If approved by supervisors, the land would become three parcels ranging from 12,000 square feet to 19,000 square feet.

Not So Common

Of course the home has "no significant historical value " and the seven trees are decaying.
