San Bruno’s Walgreens location is set to close Dec. 9 — and the property is now slated for the next-door Victory Honda of San Bruno dealership to expand their services, according to city officials.
The Walgreens, located at 333 El Camino Real, will permanently close at noon Dec. 9, a store employee said. Those who utilize the pharmacy service can obtain prescriptions either at the Millbrae Walgreens or the South San Francisco El Camino Real Walgreens.
San Bruno still has two remaining CVS Health locations, one at 10 Bayhill Drive and another at 1150 El Camino Real.
Walgreens did not respond to request for comment on the reason behind the San Bruno closure, but Peter Gilli, San Bruno Community Development director, said conversations with the property’s previous owner elucidated that Walgreens did not intend to renew its lease for the upcoming year.

The 333 El Camino Real property is now owned by Victory Honda, Gilli said, which intends to use the land to expand its current business at 345 El Camino Real. It purchased the lot at the end of 2024.
The auto dealership is currently remodeling its existing location and showroom and will move forward with development on the new property once that work is done.
“Once they complete that work, they’ll start to move forward with changes,” Gilli said.
The city had conversations with the previous owner about eventually using the 333 El Camino Real property for mixed-use development but a storm drain underneath the parking lot makes it difficult to build housing there, Gilli said.
“Housing developers that were initially very interested in the site — it’s a good-sized site on El Camino Real — once they found that out, that limited what they could build on the property,” he said. “That’s why a housing developer never ended up buying the property.”
