A 19-year-old Pescadero man remains in custody after a motion to reduce charges related to his alleged actions with two female students was denied by a judge Thursday, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Having pleaded not guilty to charges including child molestation and unlawful sexual intercourse Dec. 11, Omar Maciasmorales was also awaiting word on whether a motion to reduce his $300,000 bail would be granted Thursday, according to prosecutors.
That motion was denied by Judge Jeffrey Finigan, who also found sufficient evidence to proceed with a Superior Court arraignment Jan. 5, according to prosecutors. Â
Maciasmorales was taken into custody after a dispute between two female students at Pescadero High School earlier this month uncovered allegations he had a one- to two-year sexual relationship with one student and kissed another in the last year. His alleged actions date back to Aug. 1, 2016, with a 16-year-old student a 12-year-old student while he was a part-time after-school care employee at Pescadero Middle and High School, according to prosecutors.
On Dec. 1, police were called to the high school after a disagreement between the two students unfolded. The 16-year-old told authorities she and Maciasmorales were in a sexual relationship lasting between one and two years and the 12-year-old said he kissed her and touched her butt in the school gym Nov. 29, according to prosecutors.
