A man accused of sexual battery against a woman near 17th Avenue and the Hayward Caltrain Station in San Mateo has been arrested, the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office said.
Yacir Guzman Monge, 21, of Belmont, is a registered sex offender who was previously in prison after a 2020 Redwood City incident where he attacked a school girl, the DA’s Office said.
The alleged attack in San Mateo occurred on Nov. 15 at around 8:15 p.m., with the victim able to get away after some help from other people in the area, the DA’s Office said. He was arrested with help from a surveillance video. His next court date is Dec. 23.
