California motorists are well on their way into a summer of continuing falling prices at the pump with the state average for a gallon of gas at $4.11, a seven cent drop from a month ago, according to the AAA Northern California monthly gas survey.
Gas prices in San Mateo are down 5 cents for an average price per gallon at $4.24 a gallon, according to AAA.
Northern California’s average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $4.09, six cents less than last month’s AAA report May 13. The highest recorded price ever registered in the state of California was in October of 2012, at $4.67 a gallon of unleaded regular, according to AAA.
The national average is $3.65 for a gallon of unleaded regular gas, according to AAA.
