Air Force Airman 1st Class Shelbi D. Duncan graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Duncan earned distinction as an honor graduate.
She is the daughter of Thomas J. Duncan of Loma Mar, Calif., and Terese L. Duncan of Burlingame, Calif., and step-daughter of Cecilia R. Dement of San Mateo, Calif. The airman is also the sister of Cameron J. Duncan, Michael J. Dement, Brandon M. Duncan, and Kelly M. Dement.
Duncan graduated in 2008 from Burlingame High School. She earned an associate degree in 2011 from Cabrillo College, Aptos, Calif.
