The Pirates handed the Bulldogs their only regular-season loss, 23-20, in September. But CSM got the ultimate revenge in beating Modesto 27-22 in the Northern California championship game. …
Monte Vista Christian-Watsonville (0-1) at Carlmont (6-1), 6 p.m.
The MVC Mustangs were dealt a disappointing 28-27 loss by Piedmont Hills last week. … The Scots were stuffed by Ukiah last week, 55-28. … Carlmont beat MVC last season, 49-28. … MVC threw for 292 yards on 51 pass attempts. … The Mustangs defense came up with an interception and a fumble, while the special teams blocked a field goal. …Carlmont quarterbacks Brody Zirelli and Adam Hyman combined for 286 yards and three scores. Zirelli was 13 for 25 for 210 yards and two touchdowns.
