It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcia Leonhardt, who left us on April 23, 2025, at the age of 88, following complications from an automobile accident.
Born in Honolulu on September 4, 1936, Marcia’s adventurous spirit led her to live in Southern California and Switzerland before she found her beloved home in Burlingame in 1972. It was there she built a meaningful career in healthcare and, more importantly, cultivated deep, lifelong friendships that she cherished like family.
Marcia’s life was one of service and passion. She was a tireless champion for women’s causes and a vibrant supporter of the local performing arts, generously giving her time and energy to her community. Above all, she was the devoted heart of her family. Her greatest joy was supporting her children and grandchildren, and her legacy of love lives on through them.
She will be remembered for her radiant warmth, her unwavering grace, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met.
Marcia leaves behind her loving children, Karima and Andre; her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Austin, and Georgia; and seven beautiful great-grandchildren, Ian, Andrew, Clayton, Ava, Nathan, Tye, and Lyla. She is now reunited with her son, Marc-Alain, and her sister, Joan Lowell, who both preceded her in death in 2022.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family at the Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae on September 12, 2025. Her light and love will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
