I enjoyed reading [the] article regarding the County funding for the Women's Recovery Association (WRA) and Shelter Network. I represent the two organizations in the purchase of the building from a local attorney.
Did you hear that the Lucille Packard Foundation approved a $2.25mil loan for my clients? I would highly recommend doing a follow-up article sometime after our close of escrow which is scheduled for November 1, 2000.
Besides the County of San Mateo, there are numerous philanthropic individuals and organizations supporting the joint venture between Shelter Network and WRA.
It's a very exciting and encouraging to see that these two non-profits through the assistance of the County, Lucille Packard Foundation, and many others were able to locate a permanent office in the County they serve. With the escalating real estate prices and lack of inventory, we were having a very difficult time locating a permanent office.
Successful non-profits like WRA and Shelter Network are doing wonderful work and it's such a joy to know they will continue there operations locally.
