NEW YORK (AP) — A puppet-making workshop founded by the legendary creator of the Muppets is drawing back its curtain. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop has opened its doors to public tours. The guided walk-throughs began in February and take place on Saturdays. For $150, the tours give fans a chance to meet a puppet builder and see a puppetry demonstration. They also get to take photos and videos with beloved characters from “Fraggle Rock,” “The Muppet Show,” “Sesame Street” and other Henson creations. Henson, who died in 1990, founded the workshop in the 1960s. It has moved to various locations and is currently in Queens.

Mina Kimes of ESPN has joined the broadcast as its host. The bee airs on ION and other channels owned by the Cincinnati-based media company Scripps. Box Office: ‘Mandalorian and Grogu’ tops charts and ‘Obsession’ grows in second weekend
Studio estimates on Sunday say “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu,” has made $82 million in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada over the weekend. A continuation of the Disney+ series, the movie exceeded opening weekend expectations but remains on the low end of Disney-era Star Wars releases. Second place went to “Obsession,” which defied box office norms and made more in its second weekend than its first. The mix of movies this year didn’t hold a candle to last year’s record Memorial Day weekend. The overall four-day frame will net out around $211 million, down about 36% from last year’s $330 million.

Cristian Mungiu’s Norway-set drama about political polarization “Fjord” has won the Palme d’Or. The Cannes Film Festival’s top honor on Saturday went for the second time to the Romanian director of “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days.” This year’s edition of the festival saw few films breakout but “Fjord” found wide admiration for its engrossing tale of what Mungiu called “left-wing fundamentalism.” The film stars Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve as Romanian Evangelicals who move to Norway, but soon after have their children taken from them by child services for spanking them.
Stephen Colbert is back on TV on community access in Michigan along with rocker Jack White
Fresh off ending his national broadcast show on CBS, Stephen Colbert showed up on community access television in southeast Michigan. Exactly 24 hours after the last episode of “The Late Show” was broadcast, Colbert appeared on an episode of “Only in Monroe.” Colbert was joined by Michigan native Jack White. Colbert introduced the famed musician as his “volunteer music director. Other guests included rapper Eminem, who was raised in Detroit, actors Jeff Daniels and Steve Buscemi and comedian Byron Allen, who will be hosting “Comics Unleashed” that is replacing Colbert’s canceled “Late Show.” It wasn't clear when or where the show was taped.
Britney Spears was 'confrontational' and 'flamboyant' but tested low for alcohol during DUI stop
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Britney Spears refused to exit her BMW for about 10 minutes during a DUI arrest in March. When she did, she smelled of alcohol and appeared drunk. However breath tests showed she a lower blood alcohol content than the level where a person is presumed drunk. That's according to a police report and dashcam video obtained Friday. Officers found in her purse a bottle of Adderall that was not prescribed to her. A representative for the pop superstar did not immediately respond Friday. Spears has pleaded guilty to reckless driving involving alcohol and drugs. She checked into rehab soon after and avoided more jail time.
