Publisher agrees to changes in Virginia Giuffre's memoir after family objections
NEW YORK (AP) — The publisher of Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir, “Nobody’s Girl," has finalized a draft with her family after they raised concerns. Giuffre, an accuser of Jeffrey Epstein, died by suicide in April. Her family worried the book portrayed an overly positive view of her marriage, which ended before her death. Knopf, the publisher, says they worked with Giuffre's family to ensure her voice is heard. The book is set to be released on October 21. Giuffre had alleged she was part of Epstein's sex-trafficking ring and was exploited by powerful men, including Prince Andrew.

Prosecutors cast Sangha as a prolific drug dealer who sought to sell especially to celebrities and other wealthy customers. According to court documents, she sold Perry 25 vials of ketamine four days before his death from an overdose of the drug.

Movie Review: In 'The Baltimorons,' emergency dental work prompts an unlikely rom-com
There are all kinds of movies that are either endangered or practically extinct. The big-studio comedy. The original musical. But the sweet and shaggy regular-people movie — more a province of the 1970s, always one that required a little hunting down — is a particularly rare breed. “Baltimorons” is one of those little movies you might stumble across and are surprised that it hooks you. It does so despite — or more likely because — of its complete lack of flashiness or any self-evident attempt to “hook you.” Instead, it manages that simply with low-key charm and a warm, unpretentious humanity, writes AP Film Writer Jake Coyle in his review.

Welcome to wplace: A chaotic, collaborative digital canvas where users 'paint the world'
NEW YORK (AP) — A new online platform called wplace invites users to “paint the world” on a massive digital canvas. This ever-evolving map allows people to create art using a limited number of pixels over time. Many team up to produce larger and more elaborate images. Users have painted tributes to pop culture and symbols of local identity, as well messages of protest and global conflicts. Experts say this reflects an ongoing desire for collaboration and expression in digital spaces. However wplace also faces challenges with content moderation. Some have raised concerns about hate speech, as well as frustrations about others “griefing” their artwork.
Conservative news network Newsmax files antitrust lawsuit against Fox News
NEW YORK (AP) — The conservative news network Newsmax has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Fox News. It said Fox has sought to maintain its market dominance through intimidation and exclusionary business practices designed to stifle competition. The lawsuit says Fox has sought to block television distributors from carrying Newsmax or minimize its exposure, pressured guests not to appear on the rival network and hired private detectives to investigate Newsmax executives. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in south Florida. Newsmax seeks a jury trial. Fox, in a statement, said “Newsmax cannot sue their way out of their own competitive failures in the marketplace to chase headlines simply because they can’t attract viewers.”

'The Conjuring: Last Rites' ends the franchise with a mix of scares and sentiment
"The Conjuring: Last Rites" seems to close the chapter on this spooky franchise. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. They face a new evil in the Pennsylvania suburbs in 1986. The film blends a new possession story with the personal lives of the Warrens and their daughter. It wraps up with hope, love, and a wedding, but not before dealing with demons and chaos. The movie features a possessed mirror, creepy dolls, and nods to the '80s. Despite some slow parts, it offers a fitting farewell to the Warrens, Associated Press critic Mark Kennedy writes in his review.
