The College of San Mateo softball ran its playoff winning streak to 10 in a row and six during the 2026 postseason as the Bulldogs moved into the winner bracket’s final of the 3c2A state tournament play after beating Cosumnes River 7-2 Friday morning at Bakerfield College.

CSM (42-1) — the defending state champ, top-ranked team in the state and the No. 1 seed of the four Northern California teams in the state final eight — opened the 2026 postseason with a 2-0 sweep of 16h-seeded Lassen in the regional round and dispatching No. 8 Feather River in two straight games in a Nor Cal super regional last weekend. The Bulldogs opened state tournament play Thursday with a 6-2 win over Saddleback, the No. 4 Southern California seed.
