Carlmont football: Lucas Robertson

Carlmont receiver Lucas Robertson uses a still arm to pick up some yardage in the Scots’ 35-21 loss to San Mateo.

The San Mateo football team has developed the reputation of run, run and run the ball some more as the offense moves methodically down the field. Taking 13, 14 plays, eating six, seven minutes off the clock and bludgeon opposing defenses into submission.

But when the Bearcats are humming offensively, they are explosive and there were plenty of offensive fireworks on both sides when San Mateo hosted Carlmont in a key Peninsula Athletic League De Anza Division showdown.
