Editor,
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry’s decision concerning the Ten Commandments is unconstitutional.
Within the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights, there is a line stating, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of a religion.” The governor’s decree mandates that a copy of the Ten Commandments be present in every school classroom in Louisiana. Gov. Landry stated, “If you want to respect the rule of law, you’ve got to start from the original lawgiver, which was Moses.” Moses is a character from the Old Testament of the Judeo-Christian Bible, as are the Ten Commandments. This is clearly stuffing religion down his constituents’ throats.
Moreover, this act has been attempted before, and deemed unconstitutional. When Kentucky courthouses attempted this in both the 1980s and the 2000s (Stone v. Graham and McCreary County v. ACLU, respectively), they were shut down by the Supreme Court. Since this act has already been legally prohibited, it begs the question; why are we fighting over an answer that has already been provided?
Therefore, one must conclude that the Louisiana governor’s new law mandating the Ten Commandments to appear in every classroom is simply political, because it’s been proven to be illegal.

Not only unconstitutional, but why confuse public school kids with made-up fairy tales and superstition?
Thanks for your letter, Guo. I understand your outrage because the same argument, even more so, can be made against those who continually try to grab our guns, contrary to the Second Amendment. Even though those folks know that their potential laws/decisions are unconstitutional, they continue, if I may paraphrase you, to “stuff” down their views on everybody else’s throats. That being said there have been recent Supreme Court rulings since the ones you’ve cited where the Ten Commandments can be considered to be a culturally and historically significant document, allowing it to be posted in public school classrooms. Apparently, the answers you cite that have already been provided have been proven to be the wrong answers so this is no longer illegal.
I saw a bumper sticker that read "Don't Ban Books - Ban the 10 Commandments."
That's a winner, - where can I get one?
Probably at your favorite bedside toy store
Yes, Jorg needs to first scrape off the Biden Harris sticker that replaced the Hillary and Obama stickers. Prior to that it were Anderson and Humphrey.
At The Jerk Store.
Jorg's Scandinavian foot powered 2-wheeler still has Gore / Lieberman, Kerry / Edwards, Mondale / Ferraro & Carter / Mondale bumper stickers on the rear bumper.
Are you trying desperately to be funny, NutSo, in an attempt to cover up your embarrassing lack of understanding and valid information? Doesn’t work, you’re just digging deeper, making you look even more foolish. But, of course, you won’t understand that, - which is an integral part of the D-K symptoms.
