The article “Caltrain looks to housing” in the April 17 edition of the Daily Journal did not mention where the riders who drive to the stations would park. That seems like an important element that hasn’t been addressed. I also question whether people will want to live right next to the tracks. Even daily riders would likely prefer to live a few blocks from the noise, vibration and especially the freight trains that run all night. Multi-pane windows might help, but people like fresh air. There is a reason most buildings along railroad tracks are industrial and the housing that does exist there is low cost.
