John Wargo
John Wargo, of San Bruno, died Sept. 30, 2007. He was the loving husband of the late Shirley Wargo. He is survived by his children, Lynne (Joe) Pisani, Stephen (Maureen) Wargo, David (Nancee) Wargo, Philip Wargo and Martin Wargo. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Joseph Pisani, Marisa Kradjian, Lynea Daane, Adam Pisani, Vanessa Pisani, Sarah Hurt, Arpryl Waldman, Douglas Wargo, Michael Wargo, Charles Wargo, Antoinette Wargo, Vincent Wargo, Faith Wargo and David Whitson; five great-grandchildren, Owen Pisani Garrone, Sonja Kradjian, Spencer Daane, Talia Kradjian and Elija Hurt. Loving grandsons-in-law, David Daane and Georgio Kradjian, Andrew Hurt and Eric Waldman, also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving fiancée, Elaine Forestall. John was preceded in death by brothers, Stephen and Joseph, Sisters, Anna, Helen, Julia, Mildred, Natalie and Johanna.
John was a WWII Army veteran of the 104th Timberwolf Division; was formerly employed by H.S. Crocker and later owned Alpha Press, Inc. and was a long-time parishioner of St. Robert’s Church in San Bruno.
Family and friends may visit after 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 and are invited to attend the 7 p.m. vigil at Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Drive at El Camino Real in Millbrae.
The funeral will leave the chapel 10 a.m. Friday and will proceed to St. Robert’s Church, Oak Avenue at Crystal Springs Road in San Bruno for a 10:30 a.m. mass. Committal will follow at Golden Gate National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Mateo County, 50 N. B St., San Mateo, Calif. 94401-3917.
Dorothy Alice Maguire
Dorothy Alice Maguire, died peacefully Sept. 29, 2007 at the age of 84, surrounded by her family and caregiver. She was the beloved sister of Patricia McWhirter and loving aunt to Gail Andrews (Don), Scott McWhirter (Terri) and Kevin McWhirter (Chirs), great aunt to Angela, Ryan and Michael McWhirter. She was also survived by her dear caregiver Glenda Manzano. She was predeceased by her mother Alice and father Robert Maguire.
Family and friends may visit 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Chapel of the Highlands, El Camino Real at 194 Millwood Drive in Millbrae with a funeral liturgy beginning noon. Committal will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma.
Her family prefers donations to "Pathways Hospice,” 395 Oyster Point Blvd., Suite 128, South San Francisco, Calif. 94080, or to your local SPCA.
Kenneth R. Smith
Kenneth R. Smith died Sept. 27, 2007 in San Mateo. He was born Sept. 16,1938 in Elizabeth, Penn. He was 69 years old. He was survived by his daughters, Erika and Paige, his grandchildren Kaiyah and Jaden and his siblings James, Charles, Thelma and Sylvia. He was preceded by his loving parents Kenneth and Sylvia Smith and grandchild Kalli.
He was lovingly adored by many nieces, nephews, and family members.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 held at Sneider Sullivan & O’Connell’s at 977 S El Camino Real in San Mateo.
